I love the animation, I love what they’re doing, but the pacing seems like a challenge that we still have to work through. I wonder if fans of the anime that never read the manga have a different opinion of Haruka for that… hmmm Again however, there was so little time to digest! Makes sense for the most part since it’s a much stronger cliff hanger than her jumping into the night. I would rather each act be divided into two episodes (even if some acts would ultimately be a bit more boring) than have certain pieces of the acts feel so rushed.įor the most part I got everything I wanted! There were certainly less transformation sequences (though I still think those two should have been condensed further for the sake of time) and I was pleasantly surprised to see the Haruka kiss for Usagi at the end of this episode instead of next week. The final fight came in towards the last 5 minutes of the episode! Too much happening in this act. The episode succeeded at giving us the complete manga act but it felt like it couldn’t stop to catch its breathe. The Hotaru moment, the dreams, the Mamaru and Michiru exchange, the birthday planning, the judo fighting, the campfire sequence, the chase through the woods… aaaahh!! Act 28? REALLY trying to accomplish a lot with very little time. It allowed the flow to feel better paced and for us to really get reacquainted with these characters. How’d we do?ġ- This speed has happened before…: What made the last two episodes wonderful was that it was one act divided into two. My Hopes- See the new Mars attack, a kiss between Haruka and Michiru, really spend some time on the Rei focus element of the manga, less transformations, and see the complete act without feeling rushed. What I’m going to start doing a bit differently is highlighting what my expectations were for the episode before digging in.
